About Us
Somali Community Services of Seattle
Who We Are
Somali Community Services of Seattle (SCSS) is a trusted 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1995 to support refugees, immigrants, and low-income families in the Seattle area. For nearly three decades, we have provided critical community-based services to help individuals and families build stable, self-sufficient lives in King County.
Rooted in the vibrant Somali community of South Seattle, our team works to ensure that immigrant families in Seattle receive the support, education, and resources they need to thrive.
Our Mission
Since 1995, Somali Community Services of Seattle (SCSS) has remained committed to serving and uplifting our community with compassion, dignity, and hope. For more than three decades, we have empowered individuals and families through support, education, advocacy, and opportunity.
We believe every person deserves the chance to succeed, feel valued, and build a brighter future. Through unity, resilience, and service, we continue to stand beside immigrants, refugees, youth, seniors, and families in need.
Our mission is not only to provide help, but to inspire strength, confidence, and leadership within the community. Together, we are creating positive change, breaking barriers, and building a stronger future for generations to come.
